WILDLIFE

- Kanha is in the heart of Kipling country near the Waingunga River and the scene of The Jungle Book stories. Large tracts of forests are still found here with abundant wildlife. On Kanha's meadows, herds of cheetal mingle with magnificent barasingha, one of the world's rarest deer. The imposing gaur, the largest wild oxen, can also be seen on the meadows or browsing on the hillsides.

When the tiger is on the move, the silver langur monkeys bark their warning signal. This magnificent landscape provides visitors an excellent chance of seeing and photographing the most spectacular of all the great cats - the tiger.
